Kabob Koobideh
Ingredients
- 2 cups of Basmati Rice
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 2 yellow onions
- 1 Tbsp. each of Salt, Pepper, Cumin, Turmeric
- 4 tomatoes (optional)
Instructions:
- Grate the onions.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with the grated onions. Add salt, pepper, cumin, and turmeric. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Shape the beef mixture into oval-shaped kabobs or patties.
- After prepping the kabob, cook the rice: rinse the basmati rice under cold water to remove excess starch. Bring two cups of water to a boil before adding the rice and salt. Reduce the heat to low and cook for about 15-20 minutes.
- While the rice is cooking, heat a pan over medium heat and add oil. Once hot, place your patties in the pan and cook until golden brown (around 7 minutes on each side).
- To serve, plate the rice and arrange the kabob on top. Optionally serve with roasted tomatoes for added flavor.
